So apparently since earlier today, the game as been acting odd. Apparently no one can leave maps, and everyone lost their citizenships... what does this mean? Probably absolutely nothing, I have a feeling it's just going to all go back to normal or get rolled back, as that's generally what happens after something weird occurs in the game.

So for a while I've been editing and fixing up some crap around this site, a lot of the monsters' experiences were out of date, some things were kinda off, you know, just cleaning up a bit. If you see anything incorrect on this site anymore, lemme know. Thanks.
-Cru Been back up since this morning, I think. That's all.
-Cruside What I mean by "officially" is that the website actually says it's "offline" and there's 0 players online. I bring this up because generally, when the server goes down, the amount of players online showing on the website is actually still there for some reason (for example, like, it will say "102 players online" even when the server's not even up).
Go ahead, see for yourself: http://game.endless-online.com/server.html. What does this mean? Probably nothing. It's probably just offline again until it goes back up. Now this will raise that same age-old question that no one can let go of... who is running EO, who is the one doing this? My guess is that it's still certainly Vult. I could be wrong, but either way, whoever DOES own it has to pay to keep the server online. Perhaps it's a monthly fee, and it wasn't payed for the month of November yet, and that's why it went down pretty much as soon as the month started? Just throwing out educated guesses... -Cru As some of you may have noticed, the site has been going under some changes. I changed the overall theme of it to sort of match EO a little better, you know, instead of being like blue, it's brown and orange? That works a little better, I guess. But anyway, it's been glitching out a bit, a lot of pages are missing the bold lettering, so it might be a bit difficult to read some of the stats. I'm slowly sort of fixing everything up though, but it may be a while 'till the WHOLE thing is fixed.
-Cru It's been down since last night, November 4th 2014. This video will explain it all.
-Cru I'll tell you what would fix Endless Online:
1) Remove the level blocks 2) Add active moderators That's basically it to start with. With just even one active moderator, I believe there'd be an enormous dent in all of the hackers and autoers. And of course, the level blocks need to go. There is no reason for them to be there. The way I see it, yeah, you should be a certain level to go to specific places, but why can't you just experience that for yourself rather than just not being able to go to that place at all? The game worked out fine before the introduction of the level blocks, why are they here? Just be done with them and let us roam around the EO world like we used to. Other than that, the game would just need more players to get its economy going. You might argue "too many players is annoying because every single place you go to is packed and taken", which I somewhat agree with, but at the same time, I think too many is better than too little. But, will these two simple things ever be done? ...Probably not. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in. -Cru Someone posted a comment on my nostalgia video recently, saying that they saw Endless Online as more of a "plague" rather than enjoyable nostalgia. This sort of opened my mind a little bit; that's actually sort of true. We all want to play Endless some more, we can't stand the idea that we no longer have it, and it sort of eats away at us, instead of "ah, weren't those times playing EO great? Yeah..." it's more like "wow, that game was amazing... I didn't get enough of it, I must have more of it right now".
Again, it's very strange how ALL of us feel this EXACT same way, isn't it? Why don't other games do this to us? Why is just Endless Online? And we all go "wow, I thought I was the only one who felt this way". It's very strange... But yeah... the only thing that would fix it is if we got either Vult or some other new admin running the show with updates and active moderation (and of course, taking away the level blocks). Throw in a couple thousand players, and bang, EO would be back. Lol, hopeful much? -Cru Actually this happened on August 20th or so, and I did a video on it, but I forgot to make a blog post at the time. But well, it's the truth. It's back on, and my character still has all his items and such. I got a couple of reports of people losing their items... I don't think that's verified, but it's still plausible. Who knows.
-Cru Once every other day or so I get a message from someone telling me that they tried to install Endless Online but then their anti-malware program picked up malicious software in it. This is not of concern. These programs are picking up the eirc.exe file (which basically used to be a chat room thing) in the Endless Online folder as a trojan, but it should not be able to cause any harm. But in case you're superstitious or you just don't want to receive those warnings anymore, just delete that file and you'll be all set.
This thing has existed in the game folder for years. I already made a video on this about a year ago, but in case you didn't see it and just weren't aware, there you go. And yes the server is still down. I don't think it's an update as much as now I just think something got corrupted. But again, something would have had to have cause that, I would think... -Cruside |
